Delighted to see some more news about Fox 21's
Legends, an upcoming 60 min. TV pilot for TNT. A few days ago
Iceman Fitness head man Ricky Parcell kindly posted publicly a couple photos of
himself & Sean to Facebook, with his captions (status links please click through to see pictures):
Sean's involvement is underway!
Legends
is based on the novel of the same name by
Robert Littell, the subtitle is:
A Novel of Dissimulation. In "spy speak," the word "legend" means an agent's fake identity & memories. The story is about
deep-cover CIA operative Martin Odum (Sean Bean), who has the useful
ability to make himself appear completely different for each job. But he also has amnesia bouts... and
a stranger shakes his world with a thought... Is Martin really who he
thinks he is? Or is he himself a legend?
Newly cast is Ali Larter (
Heroes TV
series,
Resident Evil films) as Crystal Quest, another operative that has a
history with Martin Odum. She initially doesn't like him coming back
into the fold. Also appearing on the main cast list so far is Rob
Mayes (
John Dies At The End film,
Jane By Design TV series) as Troy
and Steve Harris (
Awake TV series,
The Practice TV series) as CIA
Task Force director Yates. (Side note: I was a big fan of
Awake.)
20/01/2013 UPDATE to cast: Lux Haney-Jardine (
Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter film) is son Aiden Odum; Utkarsh Ambudkar (
The Mindy Project TV series) is Bobby Mehta; Amber Valletta (
Revenge TV series,
Transporter 2 film) is ex-wife Jardine Odum; Brendan McCarthy (
Justified,
True Blood
TV series) is Leroy Streeter; Tina Majorino (
Veronica Mars,
Grey's Anatomy TV series) is Maggie Poole.
27/01/2013 UPDATE: Tracy Brennan, who is as yet uncredited with a role, tweeted a photo of her & Sean outside the set from her Instagram account:

Jesse Wang is also newly added to cast as Tsou Xing,
he posted a photo of himself & Sean on Facebook.
And another near set photo with Sean from Jennifer Kim, who is apparently playing Minh, on Instagram:

It will be interesting to see how the
TV series is planned if it is picked up. There are a few options I
can imagine. One is that a different male actor for Odum could be
employed for each episode, unhappy for us Sean fans but cost
effective for keeping a credible adaption. Makeup these days is good,
and so is Sean's ability to transform himself, but neither may suffice for what I think will be demanded. Another option I
can think of is digital enhancement of Sean for Odum's shifting
appearance. How exciting would that be! Using such high tech would
depend on the budget. Please note I'm merely speculating here and
I'll be eagerly watching for details from the production.
Legends is co-executive produced by
Homeland & 24's Howard Gordon, developed for Fox 21 by Howard
Gordon, Jeffrey Nachmanoff and Mark Bomback.
TNT is a mark of Turner Network Television.
